EXPERIMENT WITH THUD!
Performers: Veronica Thorseth, Veslemøy Eide Hodneland, Susanne Irene Fjørtoft Photos: Erik Ebert
Performed 25. May 2010 by two public benches near Gyldenpris Kindergarden in Bergen, Norway
As research in a project called ‘the neighbourhood-project’ the group ‘Thud! Moving endangered spaces’ are doing small work-in-progress improvisations for kindergarden children in Bergen. I was invited to participate in one of their experiments where the goal was to let the children experience how the work of different artists can influence each other in an improvisation. For the improvisation the two dancers Veronica Thorseth and Veslemøy Hodneland prepared a set of rules for their improvisation and I prepared my visuals and rules for my actions. We did not share the content of each other’s work. We had certain fixed points, like the location and duration of the experiment and who would start and who would finish, but within this frame we were open for each other’s input and influence.
