With some open spots in the calendar ahead and some need to dive into something a bit different for a while I started a part-time study in project leadership. Communication and teamwork are big topics, and it is a great way to get to explore my own work through different lenses.
Just rounded off two weeks of teaching at Ålesund Kunstfagskole. The students are making a scenography for a musical that will be performed later in February, with all the challenges involved in a real time, full scale production. And I've learned just as much about myself and my own process as the students has learned about scenography I think.
Francis and me performed Sketchwork on TIME in a gallery space at Suomenlinna, a small island outside Helsinki. It was cold, it was raining, my nose was running, but the event was warm, lasted until morning and we went home to sleep when it was close to breakfast time.
Lots and lots of new input during this weekend of performances in Oslo. I was mainly acting as doorkeeper and joined the theoretical part of the PAS workshop being held in collaboration with the festival. It was wonderful to not perform for once and get to fully enjoy the work of all the artists.
Tonight and tomorrow the new Happy Gorilla piece 'Dying to be Alive' will perform at Studio USF in Bergen! I am excited and I am looking forward to it as the last working period has stripped down the piece and structured the chaos of a magnitude of input into a very tightly choreographed performance.
Last research-travel connected to the Happy Gorilla project 'Dying to be Alive' (earlier titled Everything is Perfect) went to Berlin. It has been two intense, dense and saturated weeks!
A weekend packed with more than 70 performances in two days in the old prison building in Bergen! Saturday I performed a Sketchwork on TIME piece together with Francis, and on Sunday I performed a piece with Kjartan Andersen connected to some of the research we've done within our current Happy Gorilla project. What-a-weekend. And tomorrow off to Berlin for an artist in residency stay with the Gorilla-crew.
Going to whisper my secret into the ears of a selected few audience members at the season-opening of Landmark tonight. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones to get to hear it?
Enjoying long days by the lighthouse at Utsira together with Franzisca Siegrist, working on our performance project Sketchwork on TIME. I read a folder on the boat to Utsira that claimed it was therapeutic to spend time here, and I think it is true...
Besides the railroad tracks on nothing less than the Swiss national day the collaboration with wonderful architect Péter Perlaky and contortionist Colette Orler had it's opening night yesterday! Many visitors, great feedback and a job well done in the midst of the Swiss Alps.
