Heading into the Swiss countryside to re-create an artist space in an old train station building in Glarus. I don't know how it will unfold as I don't know the status of the space or with whom I will work yet! A bag full of surprises waiting for me, and also a reunion with a long-time-no-see classmate of mine Lisa Eikran.
Last performance on our USA peformance tour today! This time no rainbow, only cold, cold turquoise as the one thing I find is really needed in this boiling heat is cold, cold water splashed in my face. Performing in the small, strange botanical garden of Miami Beach where cosplayers come to take pictures of their amazing costumes!
Sweating rainbows while running around a barn at the beautiful performance farm in Rosendale upstate New York. Second performance during our USA performance tour happened today, what amazing people and places.
Performing tonight at NOoSPHERE gallery in NYC. I am traveling with Ida Grimsgaard, Anja Carr and Franzisca Siegreist to perform our four individual performances together in three places in the USA. Manhattan, skyscrapers, famous sights, skylines, sunsets, I never was a NYC-romantic, but it IS a bit mindblowing.
From Europe's oldest forest in Poland to Europe's biggest (still unexploited) gold-reserve at Rosia Montana in Romania Happy Gorilla is exploring new landscapes both externally and internally. Perfection has turned into eternal life, and we're all desperately trying to find a way to stay alive a little bit longer.
Happy Gorilla is back at WRAP and our perfectionist project is still advancing, but is taking new directions... Even though communication is constantly flowing through technology like mail and Skype it is crucial with meetings in real life like this!
And the Power Nap Shop made even more people fall asleep, this time in front of an amazing view over Hong Kong from the 37th floor. It was great to reconnect with our Exit Strategies dancer Christina Brandt Jensen and make sparks for new collaborations that might ignite later!
Meetings and catching up! Having kept in contact for a long time Kompani Krapp and me still try to make a collaboration happen where I'll do the scenography for one of their productions. Maybe this time we'll make it come true!
Norwegian national pride and America-hate are topics to be explored in tonight's performance by Thomas Bye, Ida Høy, Robert M. Johanson og Robert Saenz de Viteri. It has been a great journey to explore and design and sew and construct the scenography for this crew. I have enjoyed the rehearsals incredibly much, and I will enjoy the coming three performance evenings too!
Working intensively at WRAP on the scenography for 'fra the moderne Amerikas åndsliv' based on a collection of lectures by Knut Hamsun. The rehearsals are now going on in New York, and will start up at Brageteatret in Drammen just over Christmas. Better have as much as possible ready by then.
